Ra Mataara - Original Art Work

Promoting the awareness for Maori, and all nationalities to be aware of the harsh Sun Ray's as the planet heats up. Skin cancer effects all skin types in today's climate. We all need protection. In this promotion l wanted to reflect the heat of the sun ,adding gold foil to enhance this, the sunflowers not only reminding the joy of summerdays but the underlinning reality of what can lie underneath of its beauty , in the blistering sun we can all fade into something less joyful and leading to the lost of life, with this painting  l hope to bring a voice hope to all those who are suffering from the harsh reality of what our sun can do without warning l pray that it become a voice to stay Ra Mataara today and for the future ,This painting was then made into  "Parasols " small umbrellas suitable for covering up under the heat of the day, this collaboration was a joy to do and for each umbrella sold a small percent is donated to the cancer care of patients to help in any way needed . I will also be  donating part of the sale of this piece to that cause also. 

This piece is acrylic layers, heated, stenciled pieces giving a beautiful effect of changes and blistering the paint to remind us of the damage that the sun can do,
